It's been over 10 weeks now since my op ( very sorry for not posting sooning - I wondered why I wasn't able to get onto the forum and realised it's because I hadn't renewed my membership - ooops ) RollEyes
10 WEEKS -It's just flown by! I am now 2 weeks and 6 days away from my cast being removed ( fingers crossed ) Since I have been able to weight bear slightly (7 weeks) life has certainly been easier. I'm just hoping that when I see the consultant he is happy and I wont be needing another cast. I hope you are all doing okay.
Anne-Marie : How are you? I do hope you are recovering well. xx

Hi Kelly, glad to hear it's going well. Have you managed to get around on crutches? It must be so hard not to put any weight on it. Take care.

Thankyou. Yes I have used the crutches from the word go. I'm now just using them out of the house, I'm able to potter around in the house without them which is great. I often think I'm doing TOO much and have to tell myself off and rest.

Hello Kelly,
so good to hear things are good for you, i am now 4wks post opp, i have had a stomach virus and have pulled a muscle on the fusion leg but i am just starting to feel better thank god, still have a rotten cough, had to have a re plaster as my poor old foot was turning blue, the plasterer lol knows me on first name terms, his wife was told 5wks ago that she had R.A. She also has major back probs, life is so difficult when you are non weight baring, i am using chairs to lean on to get balance when hanging out washing, lay on the floor to sweep and mop, everything takes so long, lucky you now you are part baring, i will see surgeon on 6th May here,s hoping that things will change for the better, lol are you sleeping ok now, i think i am pain free, if it wasn,t for this cold i would sleep like a babe.

i have had a problem with my laptop charger hubby ordered me a new one, so i am back on again, i ofter forget to pay NRAS so you are not the only one!

Kelly when will you have to go back to work? i think its going to be 3 mths for me, work are so happy NOT! tough what can we do,? went to a lovley park yesterday (Asridge) they supplied me with a golf cart to drive well hubby drove it was nice to get out.

Kelly have you found the crutches hard on the palm of your hands? i hane padded the handles, its a bit more comfy.

take good care, yes don,t do to much, this is what i am being told, but it is hard i want to give the house a good clean! so blooming fussy

Thankyou everyone - 1 week and 4 days until my cast comes off (fingers crossed)
Anne - Marie, so glad that you are doing well. I am able to go back to work the week after my cast comes off which will have been 13 weeks. I simply cannot wait. I founc the crutches particually difficult when I was non weight bearing, now can partially weight bear, life is much easier. Like you I am itching to do things, but it'll all be worth it in the end.
Take care of yourself

I've just replyed to your other post Anne.
Yes it was wobbly at first and I had a slight blip with having a screw removed 2 weeks after the cast was removed. But I am slowly getting there. I enjoyed a lovely day at Stourhead today and suprised myself with how far I walked. I'm being good and doing all the excercises the physiotherapist adviced.
